Angeles Optometric Center Services in Orange County

At Angeles Optometric Center, our optometrist Dr. Vu uses a wide range of vision therapy methods in addition to general eye care services to help treat several eye-related conditions without the use of surgery. Dr. Vu prescribes personalized therapeutic plans, which are individualized to meet the unique needs of each patient in order to ensure the best possible treatments results. Dr. Vu and our team at Angeles Optometric Center offer the following services to patients in Orange County and the surrounding areas.

Vision Exams

All patients receive a comprehensive vision exam, which includes a complete examination and discussion of the patient's health history and symptoms to aid in diagnosis, a visual acuity test, a general eye examination to assess the health of the eye's internal structures and proper function, and an eye health screening. It is recommended that patients schedule a comprehensive eye exam annually for early diagnosis of eye conditions and to update corrective lens prescriptions.

Vision Therapy

Vision therapy uses various non-invasive procedures and exercises to improve eye conditions and eye function. Not to be confused with exercises aimed at strengthening the eye muscles, vision therapy exercises improve visual abilities, function, skill, ease of use, comfort, and the ability to process visual information. Depending on patient diagnosis, Dr. Vu will treat any existing eye conditions using various vision therapy techniques including orthopic, behavioral, visual processing, perception therapy, sensory learning, syntonic phototherapy, and others. Vision therapy sessions usually last anywhere from 30 minutes to one hour scheduled once or twice per week.

Visual Rehabilitation

Patients who have suffered any ailment, disease, or injury which has resulted in a vision impairment require visual rehabilitation. During rehabilitation, patients will undergo various treatments and vision therapies to restore their visual abilities to an optimal level of function.

Ortho-K

Short for orthokeratology, ortho-k refers to the fitting of specially designed overnight contact lenses, which gently and gradually reshape the cornea (the surface of the eye) to treat conditions like astigmatism, myopia, childhood myopia, and refractive errors like nearsightedness.

Computer Vision Treatment

Computer vision treatment uses a specialized computer system and software program to improve binocular vision and treat eye conditions such as amblyopia. This software tracks eye movement, visual cognition, and binocular vision, while both assessing and treating conditions. Though software is available for at home purchase and use, it is recommended that patients complete computer vision treatment sessions under the supervision of an eye care professional.

Sports Vision

Sports vision therapy aims to reduce the risk of injury and to improve the eye function of athletes by enhancing both visual perceptual skills and visual motor skills. Using visual acuity tests and corrective eyewear to modify vision, Dr. Vu also enhances the function of athletes' eyes using vision therapy treatments to better develop motor skills and cognitive perception of visual information.

Visual Evoked Potential

Visual evoked potential (VEP) is a highly-advanced vision test that
objectively measures how well your entire vision system is working. The
results of this VEP vision test will help your doctor diagnose various
vision disorders, and better understand when changes in your visual
function occur.
